Plain English. No surprises.
What we collect
- The question you typed — when you ask "how does this affect me", we hold the question briefly to look up the answer and discard it. The question is not logged with your IP.
- Aggregate page views — every page load sends an anonymous record (site, path, referrer, screen size, timestamp) to a first-party endpoint that increments daily counters only. No per-visitor IDs, no cookies, no IP storage.
- Server logs — standard web-server access logs (IP, time, path, status). Rotated. Not joined to anything.
What we don't collect
- No Google Analytics, Facebook pixel, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Hotjar, Segment, or any third-party tracker.
- No advertising identifiers and no ad targeting. How Does This Affect Me runs no ads.
- No behavioral profile of you. We do not predict your behavior, your engagement, or your churn. Every visitor sees the same content for the same query.
- No call to OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or any LLM vendor with your personally identifying information.
- No session-replay tools.
What this app is
A read-only policy explainer. There are no user accounts. The same answer is generated for every visitor asking the same question, based on the same set of public sources.
Third-party data sources
Congress.gov, Federal Register, state-legislature feeds, Ballotpedia, and the same Modelo Tech BallotPulse data store used elsewhere in the portfolio.
Deleting your data
No accounts, no per-user data stored. Nothing to delete.
